AniThe June 26 episode of SHIBUYA ANIME BASE featured voice actors Yumiri Hanamori and Yui Makino, who discussed the upcoming summer anime 'The World Is Dancing' and the 20th anniversary of 'Welcome to the N.H.K.'
During the program, Hanamori, who voices the protagonist Oniyasha in 'The World Is Dancing,' highlighted three appeals of the series: its stunning animation depicting Noh dance, the character's historical significance as Zeami Motokiyo, and the warm atmosphere on set with a star-studded cast including Shinya Tsuchiya, Maaya Uchida, and Takahiro Sakurai. She revealed that the cast members take turns bringing Japanese sweets as a nod to a scene featuring dumplings.
Makino, who played Misaki Nakahara in 'Welcome to the N.H.K.,' shared a tense recording anecdote from the series' 23rd episode, where her character and Sato's confrontation was performed without scripts, leading to an unscripted line from co-star Yutaka Koizumi that resulted in a retake. The episode is now available for free catch-up on ABEMA.
